Biography

Laurie grew up in Putnam, Connecticut, and attended Colgate University in Hamilton, New York, where she earned a BA in English and Geology. 

Laurie moved to New Orleans to attend law school at Loyola, where she was active in Moot Court, serving on the Moot Court Board as the National Team Coach.
 
After receiving her JD from Loyola, Laurie attended the University of San Diego, where she received an LL.M. in Criminal Law.

Laurie served as law clerk to the Honorable Judge Ross P. LaDart of the 24th Judicial District Court for two years before accepting an associate position with the law firm of Porteous, Hainkel and Johnson. 

In 2009, Laurie accepted a position as associate with the DeRouen Law Firm and she became a partner in 2018.

Laurie concentrates her practice in insurance defense, insurance coverage, bad faith litigation, trucking/transportation law, and insurance fraud.
